viva, we had the same experience some time ago with our grandma who got 90 years old.
within one week she stopped walking (with our aid), sitting. And within that short time she became unable to eat and to drink. We saw her getting down from the living. she layed in her bed, eyes open, mouth open, snoaring.
We held her hand, speaking to her about the past. If she recognized it we dont know.
the last 2 days she was not "present". The last hours her breething went low and stopped sometimes. so she died wihtin her family, saw her children, grandchildren, greatgrand children.
So we see that death is the enemy of mankind. its an endless love from god to keep us back to life by Jesus Christ who released us from the bonds of death.
I know that my redeemer liveth and that he will arise over the dust - this quote is from Job but gives us indeed fine hope out of the view of a pre christian loyal one.
May his belonging come through and get our benefit too.
